And the frequency never seems to waver from 4888MHz, no matter how hot the CPU supposedly gets. Heres how to make your CPU and GPU perform to their full potential. While some of the tests float around 80-90C, the more intensive tests have multiple cores skyrocketing to 100.0C. I still have about two weeks to return the laptop, so please advice me if you think that it may have a hardware failure or its all normal and expected behavior during the stress testing. Hot PC components are thermally throttled and you miss out on potential performance. The CPU is now throtlling from 4000ghz to 1600ghz automatically frequently when the pc is idling. Isn't the processor supposed to maintain full turbo boost for as long as it is needed without overheating, not only for 7-8 secs? Also should i be worried about the "CPU throttled at 91% by Windows" warning in userbenchmark test? This means that CPU temperature is too high (near 100 degrees C ). I have installed a CPU and played around with bios and windows settings but am unsure if the CPU is working or behaving as it should, so i have reset bios to default values and set windows power settings back to default values. Here are screenshots of HWmonitor during and after stress testing I have noticed that in the beginning of any benchmark test (OCCT, Prime95) my CPU temperature going up to 93-97 C for several seconds in which its working in full turbo speed around 3900MHz, before normalizing to 82-83c but at the cost of dropping to 2800-2900 MHz. A lot of laptops set the offset to between 3 and 5 so thermal throttling begins at 95C to 97C. It looks like Gigabyte has set this offset to 10 so thermal throttling begins at 90C instead of 100C. If the value does not go beyond a certain point, it means the CPU is being throttled. The Intel default for this setting is 0 which allows the CPU to start thermal throttling at 100C. The Maximum Frequency value shows the current power consumption by the CPU. In the run box, enter: perfmon.exe /res and tap the Enter key. ![]() Ensure maximum processor state is set to 100% via Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Processor power management > Maximum processor state. Tap the Win+R keyboard shortcut to open the run box. However, after performing userbenchmark tests several times, i always get the following warning:"ĬPU throttled at 91% by Windows. Browse the following path: Computer Configuration > Administrative. Hello all! I have bought a few days ago new Acer Aspire A515-52-394A with i3-8145U, 8GB ram, 250GB SSD, Windows10 Home and i am very glad with the purchase. How do I stop my CPU from throttling Windows 10 Open Start.
